Music has always been a passion of mine. I started playing guitar around 12 years old but I cannot remember a time in my life when I was not singing. However, I started becoming really interested when I saw my mom singing in church and I thought to myself, “I would love to do that one day.” No matter what I was doing, I was always thinking of music.
In similarity to growing up in music, I also grew up in church. My family made it a point to make sure that I knew the love of Jesus Christ and found Him in my heart. Ever since I accepted Him as my Savior at 9 years old, I have lived with Jesus being the soul purpose of my life; trying to glorify Him in everything I do. My school work, my sports, and especially, my music.
I have had to work hard for everything I wanted in my life, but it seemed like music was the one thing that seemed to come naturally to me. Unlike sports, where I had a great athletically built body but was not the most naturally athletic player. Music seemed to be what I was best at. It has always been my escape.
Now that I have been given this gift of music, my goal is to use this to show the love of Christ and glorify Him over everything else I do. I do not want any of my achievements to reflect me. I want them to reflect my Maker. I want to use the gifts He has given me to bring more to His Kingdom!
I thank God daily for the escape He has given me in my music and I pray that you will find escape in my music too. God Bless!!!
